Energy Psychology

Energy Psychology is a new paradigm for healing dysfunctional emotions and the negative thought patterns and self-defeating behavior that support those emotions. Healing the emotions is the gateway to a happier, healthier experience of a fulfilling life. Energy Psychology is based on clinical trials that show that stimulating energy points on the surface of the skin alters psychological states by creating shifts in neurochemistry, thoughts, feelings, and behavior. Energy points are also known as meridian points or acupressure points.

Many emotional problems are the result of painful, past experiences that cause the amagydala (the part of the brain that records emotions) to store feelings of fear, anxiety or anger. Even when there is no actual threat present, traumatic symptoms may be triggered by a thought, feeling, memory, image, smell, sound or sensation unconsciously associated with the past event that are just as distressing as those of the original traumatic experience. The emotional response can be disturbing or disabling. Because this pattern may be below conscious awareness, it could be the root of many dysfunctional patterns of emotion and behavior.

Energy psychology techniques allow the practitioner to stimulate meridian points by tapping acupressure points on the face and upper body to relieve anxiety and other emotional problems. Tapping meridian points releases blocked electromagnetic energy in the body to restore a harmonious flow of energy that supports health and vitality. Energy Psychology therapies include Emotional Freedom Therapy. Thought Field Therapy, Attractor Field Technique, and Tappas Acupressure Techniques, to name a few.

Emotional Freedom Technique

EFT was introduced in 1995 by Gary Craig, a Stanford Engineering graduate in lifelong pursuit of personal well-being. EFT is an easy and effective application of Energy Psychology , a broad range of psychological treatments that utilize the human energy system. According to the Energy Psychology paradigm, painful physical, emotional and spiritual symptoms are the result of a disruption in the flow of life force energy (Chi or Qi) through the meridians that run throughout the body. When the disruption is cleared by gently tapping meridian acupressure points on the face, hands and upper body, symptoms are relieved and often disappear. Properly applied, EFT quickly realigns the energy meridians with respect to negative memories and disconnects the physical and/or emotional discomfort attached to them. Clients may quickly learn how to tap their meridian pressure points themselves for practice between sessions. The success rate for EFT is estimated at about 80%.

Energy Psychology techniques such as EFT can be used to resolve a wide variety of distressing symptoms including:

  • Weight loss
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Addictions
  • Insomnia
  • Trauma
  • Phobias
  • Chronic anger
  • Chronic pain
  • Irritable bowel syndrome

Your subconscious beliefs determine what you can and can not achieve. Your life is a reflection of your beliefs. These beliefs are the result of cumulative, life-long programming by parents, teachers and society from infancy onward. Because of negative programming by often well-meaning adults, children develop self-sabotaging thoughts and behavior patterns. PSYCH-K® helps you to communicate directly with both the conscious and the subconscious minds, so you can change old beliefs that undermine you into new positive ones that support you.

Changing subconscious beliefs that may be sabotaging well-intentioned actions is similar to reprogramming a personal computer. Using PSYCH-K® techniques, you can increase communication between the right and left brain hemispheres, achieving a more "whole-brained" state. Integrated brain function facilitates changes in subconscious beliefs. In addition, when right and left hemispheres of the brain are in simultaneous communication, the qualities and characteristics of both hemispheres are available to maximize your full response potential to life's challenges. PSYCH-K® techniques are easy to learn and simple to use.

L.I.F.E. System

The L.I.F.E. (Living Information Forms Energy) System is the ultimate in Bioresonance Feedback Stress Management Technology. It identifies and neutralizes stress patterns in the energy field of an individual. An energetic assessment is done by a computerized scan of your electromagnetic energetic field for physical and emotional stressors through sensors attached at the head, wrists and ankles. Energetic stressors such as viruses, nutritional imbalances, allergies, food sensitivities, meridian and chakra imbalances, emotional disturbances, environmental toxins, hormonal abnormalities are detected by comparing readings to a norm.

This is followed by bioresonance feedback of corrective frequencies to your body which allows you to regain energetic balance and harmony. Responses to the bioresonance feedback include enhanced relaxation, insight, increased energy, relief from symptoms, and stimulation of natural healing energies. The process is painless, safe and gentle.

Using the L.I.F.E. System, Susan has been able to help individuals with emotional stress (particularly children), pain, skin problems, bedwetting, unresolved relationship conflict, migraines, hypertension, and accumulated toxicity.

Nutritional Therapy

Nutritional therapy is a system of healing based on the belief that food, as nature intended, provides the medicine we need to obtain and maintain a state of health. Although some health problems require specific medication, many conditions can be relieved effectively with nutritional therapy. These include disorders ranging from chronic fatigue, energy loss, insomnia, depression and anxiety, to backache, skin problems, asthma, and headaches.

During the last fifty years, our attitudes toward nutrition, as well as our farming and cultivating practices, have dramatically altered our ability to consume nutritional food. We have been seduced by the media to believe that we donít have time to prepare nutritious meals and that fast-fix processed foods and restaurant fare are adequate substitutes for healthy meals. Consequently, Americans are consuming alarming amounts of chemicals designed to preserve, enhance and addict consumers to the convenience and flavor of nutritionally bankrupt, pseudo-food products. Processed foods also often contain toxic trans-fatty oils, excessive sugar and calories.

Children are the most vulnerable victims of this pseudo-food scam. It is estimated that less than 1% of American children get the recommended daily allowance of necessary vitamins and minerals. Children are trained from infancy to crave sugar, unhealthy fats and flavor-enhancing, chemical additives. Mothers supply bottles and sippy cups of juices that are little more than sugar syrup laced with food dyes that are calorie dense and nutritionally impoverished. Toddlers quickly acquire a taste for chicken nuggets, french fries, ketchup, pizza, etc. They promptly refuse to eat fruits and vegetables that their growing bodies and brains require to digest and assimilate vitamins and minerals necessary for their growth and proper brain development. Hence the rapid escalation of attention and learning problems and autism spectrum disorders that plague our society today.

The eating habits acquired in childhood often continue to deteriorate into adolescence. Teens have even more access to fast foods and sodas. By adolescence, many teenagers drink little or no water, favoring sugar-laden sodas that leach essential calcium from their bones. Their partiality toward high fat simple carbohydrates diets lays the foundation for obesity, diabetes and numerous physical and emotional disorders.

Did you know that a diet overloaded with simple carbohydrates, combined with a stressful lifestyle depletes the body of vitamin B? Symptoms of Vitamin B deficiency include:

  • Heart arrhythmias
  • Fibrillation
  • Indigestion
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Chronic exhaustion
  • Mental problems
  • Paranoia, vague fears, fear that something dreadful is about to happen
  • Nervousness
  • ADD (attention deficient disorder), inability to concentrate, irritability
  • Feeling of uneasiness
  • Thoughts of dying
  • Easy agitation, frustration
  • Inability to sleep (insomnia)
  • Restlessness
  • Tingling in hands
  • Tingling fingers and toes
  • Rashes
  • Crying spells, inability to cope
  • Soreness all over

Human beings require nutritious food, vitamin/mineral supplements, sufficient exercise and rest, sunlight, fresh air, and pure water. These essential components of health are the foundation upon which we build the structure for physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being. Without these essential ingredients, we are compromised in our pursuit of health and happiness.

Some studies suggest that meditation practiced on a regular basis is as effective as medication in alleviating symptoms of anxiety and depression. Meditation is non-invasive, free, and has no side effects. During meditation, the brain produces an alpha wave pattern identical to that state of deep relaxation when one is falling asleep or awakening. Alpha brain wave patterns benefit the mind/body in the following ways:

  • Calms your body and mind while maintaining alertness
  • Stimulates imagination, intuition and heightened awareness
  • Allows for detachment from the outcome
  • Improves memory, concentration, and mental clarity
  • Improves sleep patterns and overall health
  • Reduces muscle tension, chronic pain, and headaches
  • Lowers high blood pressure
  • Enhances the immune system
  • Increases serotonin production and reduces anxiety and depression
  • Helps in post-operative healing

Many people are intimidated by the idea of meditating. The basics of meditating effectively include deep, rhythmic breathing, soothing mental imagery and deep relaxation. We have developed a library of meditation CDs that fascilitates the novice and practiced meditator in achieving fast and effective results with a minimum of effort.
